Description
YEMENI SIDR POWDER: 45 GRAM
In Islamic literature (Quran & Sunnah), it’s called Sidr (السدر). In English it is called Jujube, Lote, and it’s botanical name is Ziziphus Spinachristi. The Sidr tree is mentioned four times in the Qur’an:
Waqi’ah, verse no 27 – 33.
Sura Najm, verse no 7 to 12.
Sura Najm, verse no 16-17.
Nabi صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم said that Hazrat Adam ate this fruit, on earth among other fruits. (Abu Nu’aim: 805). Our Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم saw the Sidrat Al-Muntha (Lote Tree) at the utmost boundary on Miraaj night, and its fruits were like pitchers.
Benefits of Sidr Leaf Powder:
1) Bathing the dead body with Sidr Water, and Bathing Using Sidr When Embracing Islam:
According to Islamic law, it’s Sunnah to use Sidr when bathing a dead body (Hazrat Umme Atiya رضي الله عنها says that when one daughters of Rasulullaah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم passed away, Rasulullaah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم told bath her body, an odd numbers of times, with water boiled with Sidr leaves), and when embracing Islam too.
2) Hair & Body:
Often referred to as “nature’s shampoo”, it is prized both for its potent personal care treatment. Sidr leaves naturally contain saponins—plant compounds that create a light, modest foam when mixed with water. It cleanses the hair and lifts away excess sebum and buildup without stripping away natural oils. Due to its astringent and antibacterial qualities, it helps soothe itchy scalps, eliminate dandruff, reduce hair fall, and add natural volume to the hair texture.
3) Spiritual Healing (Ruqyah)
Scholars and Aamils heavily utilize Sidr powder in water to treat afflictions like the Evil Eye (Ayn), envy (Hasad), and black magic (Sihr). In traditional practice (validated by historical scholars like Ibn Kathir), seven crushed Sidr leaves or a corresponding amount of powder are mixed into water. Verses of the Qur’an (such as Ayat al-Kursi and the Mu’awwidhatayn) are recited over the water. The afflicted individual then drinks three sips and bathes with the remainder to break the spiritual trial.
